পদ্মা বাংলাদেশের প্রধান নদী। হিমালয়ে উৎপন্ন গঙ্গানদীর প্রধান শাখা এবং বাংলাদেশের তৃতীয় দীর্ঘতম নদী। বাংলাদেশের গুরুত্বপূর্ণ শহর রাজশাহী এই পদ্মার উত্তর তীরে অবস্থিত। পদ্মার সর্বোচ্চ গভীরতা ১,৫৭১ ফুট (৪৭৯ মিটার) এবং গড় গভীরতা ৯৬৮ফুট (২৯৫ মিটার)। বাংলাদেশে নদীটির দৈর্ঘ্য ১২০ কিলোমিটার, গড় প্রস্থ ১০ কিলোমিটার এবং নদীটির প্রকৃতি সর্পিলাকার।
The Padma is a major river in Bangladesh and India. It is the main distributary of the Ganges, flowing generally southeast for 120 kilometres to its confluence with the Meghna River near the Bay of Bengal. The city of Rajshahi is situated on the banks of the river.
